SEO Marketing Strategy is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results. It’s a long-term strategy that focuses on creating valuable content, developing on-page optimization, and cultivating external links.
How to Create an Effective SEO marketing Strategy
If you’re looking to improve your website’s SEO ranking, there are a few things you can do:
- Create valuable content. In order for potential customers to find your website through organic search engine results, you need to provide valuable content that is relevant to their interests. This means writing blog posts, creating infographics and videos, and conducting research and interviews that your target audience will find interesting and engaging.
- Optimize your website’s on-page elements. There are a number of on-page optimization techniques that you can use to improve your website’s SEO ranking, including title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and image optimization.
- Cultivate external links from reputable websites. One of the most important factors that search engines use to determine a website’s SEO ranking is the number and quality of external links from other reputable websites. By cultivating external links from high-quality websites, you can improve your website’s SEO ranking and increase traffic to your site.
How to search for SEO keywords
The first step in any SEO marketing strategy is to research the right keywords to target. There are a number of different tools and methods you can use to research keywords, including competitor analysis, search engine trends, Google AdWords, Advanced keyword research.
Once you have identified the right keywords to target, you need to incorporate them into your website’s content and on-page optimization. You can also use them in your paid search campaigns and social media marketing efforts.
SEO is something you should be doing as part of your marketing strategy, no matter how good you think your website is. It is also something that very few people care about (unless they are running a search engine optimization agency, in which case they are probably within their rights to care).
But if you don’t do SEO, you will be left behind by the big boys and girls. Anyone who isn’t doing it properly is at a direct disadvantage to them. The bad news is that it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. The good news is that anyone can do it for themselves and make it work for them.
Crafting an SEO Strategy
So, you’ve started building a product. This is great. Now what?
The first step is to get your product out there and build some user traction. This can be done in two ways:
- Create a website and develop a value proposition and story around it, inviting people to become customers or evangelists; and/or
- Create an app (in order of priority): develop a new application in the iOS App Store, Google Play Store, or both; release it; create an SEO strategy around it (e.g., create blog posts, share articles on social media); get company press releases out about it.
These are all good ways to get your product out there, but none of them are perfect for every situation — and all of them take time (and money). This means that you need to figure out which is the best way for your particular case. If you have the time and the money, go for both: creating websites as well as apps. It really does make a big difference if you choose either one carefully. If on the other hand you only have $30K to spend on marketing your product or know that you need to do something quickly but don’t want to invest too much in a marketing campaign then go with websites: they usually work faster than apps (there isn’t the same cost pressure). But if you are just starting out or just don’t want to waste too much money (or time), then app creation is probably what I would recommend.
Keyword Research
This is the second part of one of the most popular posts on this blog. The title says it all, don’t you think?
In this post, we will introduce the concept of keyword research, and give a step-by-step example of how to conduct a complete SEO deeper search using a tool like SEMRush. In the first part of this post (Step 1), we will discuss general SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings for a company’s keyword.
In Step 2, we will present an example project with minimum investment and maximum ROI; and in Step 3, we will show you how to avoid common mistakes when conducting keyword research.
On-Page Optimization
It’s common for businesses to focus their SEO marketing on the technical aspects of their site (on-page optimization). This is a good thing if you’re trying to optimize your site for search engines, but not if you want to optimize your SEO.
For example, Google only penalizes sites that are being written in an unnatural way (like using random keywords when writing content). And since we know that human beings are terrible at writing content, getting people to pay attention to your site is going to be difficult. But even if you get there, there is still a problem here: the human brain is unreliable and even when it works well, it doesn’t work well enough for us to trust what it says. Your user experience is more important than your content anymore.
This means that while still focusing on on-page optimization, you need to shift the entire mindset of your SEO marketing strategy towards user experience — not technical optimization. This means:
- You need to create better content and get it into the hands of users (in other words: make it easier for them to find what they are looking for)
- You need to create better navigation (you probably don't want people taking more than 5 clicks at any given time)
- You need to determine which areas of your site should be optimized first — such as mobile or tablet first? For example?
- And above all: You should let go of worrying about whether people are going to click through or not because now you have a much higher ROI from users who do click through — so focus instead on making those users happy. User happiness = ROI!
So how do we do this? The answer is simple: user experience engineering. It all starts with understanding why people are clicking around your site; what makes them click; and then figuring out how you can change those things so that they do click. The best way I know how is by using “user testing” tools like UserTesting or WebAIM and trying out new ideas on live users without them having any idea they are being tested. Once you have this base understanding in place and comfortable with UX design principles, then the next step is really honing in on just one part of the web experience at a time, looking at everything from search engine optimization (because Google can still hurt you there) all the way down through landing pages and landing forms until every aspect of your website
Off-Page Optimization
There are several aspects to off-page optimization, but one of the most important is the creation of a content marketing strategy.
The topic has been covered before here, but it is worth repeating. In this case, we are going to talk about how to create content marketing strategies for your website and how to implement them successfully so that you generate as many leads as possible over time.
