Best Ways Shopify Email Marketing

Best Ways Shopify Email Marketing

What is Shopify Email Marketing?

I’ve been meaning to write this guide for a while now. I’m always getting questions about Shopify email marketing and I wanted to create a comprehensive guide that would answer the most common questions and help new customers get started. Shopify has been around for over 10 years, but can still be a very new market for many people. It’s also a large one with an incredible amount of growth potential, so that can make it quite intimidating to new customers who don’t know where to start or what they should prioritize in terms of their email marketing strategy.

My goal is to give you the best advice you can in terms of how you should start up your email marketing campaign and implement Shopify email marketing into your company.

The first thing newcomers need to do is understand how Shopify uses email marketing – because this will help them make informed decisions on what kind of campaigns they should start up and run.

Best Simple Ways Shopify Email Marketing

Shopify email marketing is one of the best ways for you to market your business on the web because it allows you to reach people in any part of the world with your brand and products. It works by sending out emails from Shopify directly without having to go through an intermediary like a MailChimp account, which is great if you don't have one of those.

For more information on what Shopify does with emails (and why), check out this blog post from our team, or read our full explanation here. Finally, if you're ready to learn more about what's inside each email, check out the first two parts of our series here.

  • How Does Shopify Use Email Marketing
  • What's Inside Each Email?
  • How Does This Work?
  • Useful Tips & Resources.
  • Conclusion In this post we'll take a look at how Shopify uses email marketing and some important things we'd like people who are just starting their mailing list development process (or just want some extra information) to know about before getting started.

We'll also go over some useful tips that will help both novice marketers as well as those who are already at the stage where they're trying to decide which kind(s) of campaigns are worth running (or not).

If you're not sure if you need zip codes or something else in your campaign then keep.

Shopify email login?

Shopify email login is a very common request among Shopify users. And that's a problem.

The answer, unfortunately, is not a simple yes or no: when you set up Shopify Email Marketing, you have the option to enable Shopify Email Login for your email lists. But if you do this, you are also giving your customers the option to use their own shopping carts and/or checkout pages instead of using Shopify's shopping cart & checkout integration.

If you're hosting all of your emails on Shopify and don't want to make your customers use the shopping cart & checkout integration, then enabling Shopify Email Login is one solution.

  1. The other option would be to create 2 emails in two different ways: one will be sent to all of your subscribers who have not enabled the Shopify email login feature (that will include the Shopify email login button).
  2. The other will be sent to all of your subscribers who have enabled the Shopify email login feature and they will only open one of these emails (e.g., if they've enabled it before this mail ever gets sent).

Either way, they'll receive an identical message saying that they can either log in or use their own shopping cart & checkout pages. This way they can choose what tools they want to use with their emails and how many emails they want them sent per day or week - without having to worry about the other options for logging in vs using their own shopping cart & checkout pages.

Does Shopify have email marketing?

Shopify is a relatively new player in the e-commerce space, first launched in 2011. In fact, it’s so new that many of its emails are not even emails. They are “Shopify Marketing Emails” (SMEs). SMEs can be used to send all kinds of marketing material to a list of customers, including but not limited to:

  1.  Goodies.
  2. Newsletters.
  3. Coupons.
  4. Offers and discounts.
  5. Promotional pricing and discounts.
  6. Promotional offers and discounts.
  7. Merchandise listings.

If you plan to use Shopify for your e-commerce business, it might be a good idea to send email updates to your customers about all of these things as well. This might not be the most exciting email you'll ever do (especially if you have any other eCommerce products), but SMBs are an important tool for getting more word of mouth about your offerings.

If you are wondering what to get into an SME, check out our guide here. However, there are some things to avoid:

  • Incorrect subject lines (eg, "We offer discounts on this item" instead of "Shopify offers discounts on this item" or "Shopify offers discounts on this item").
  • Misleading subject lines (eg, "Shopify discounts you" rather than "Shopify offers free shipping to you" or "Shopify offers discounts for you").
  • Unnecessary text (eg some prices may be too low)
  • Unnecessary attachments such as digital files such as PDFs or zip files (It's best to just include them in your mailing campaign).

Anyway, Shopify email marketing isn't the worst way to get people talking about your brand online; It's just one way to try different approaches without completely committing yourself to a particular strategy.

The best way to start your Shopify email marketing experience is to create an account and sign up for some test emails using our website. Once you've done that, we recommend checking out our guide on how small businesses can use Shopify email marketing. And if you have questions about the email marketing strategies listed above, feel free to get in touch!

Is Shopify email marketing free?

Shopify is a great tool for eCommerce, but it is not the only (or even the best) solution for email marketing. That’s why I have added my list of recommendations below!

I have tried many different email marketing solutions over the years, and every single one eventually struck me as lacking in some way — either in ease of use and/or quality. There are a few things that I really love about Shopify email marketing:

  • A lot of features are built-in and there’s no setup necessary. This makes it easy to start integrating with your existing systems, like WordPress and Drupal (which is why we love Shopify eCommerce).
  • It has rich templates which make it easy to build compelling content. Even if you don’t use Shopify’s own templates, they are still very flexible and work well with WordPress or Drupal.
  • You can create custom emails specifically for each customer (more on this below).

Just because you don’t need to do any setup doesn’t mean you can't do it right. And Shopify has a great feature called “Custom Email Templates” which lets you create your own custom templates without having to worry about including all of your data in each email. This helps with content marketing (as well as sales funnels), which is great when building up an audience on a more personalized level.

But the real power of Shopify email marketing comes from customizing each user's emails: creating custom versions for each segment of your customer base using features like Custom Segments.

Custom segments will help you target specific customers based on their interests or other criteria you might want to link to from your website. If you combine this with something like Google Analytics, you can track all kinds of data about how people interact with your site - like how often they open certain pages, what they read, etc.

Custom colors allow you to customize color versions of pages so that they change colors automatically depending on what visitors see while visiting your site. Finally, custom themes allow you to create attractive versions of business pages that can be used by visitors with additional special needs or preferences when it comes to their shopping experience (or sometimes just plain obsession). For example, if someone sees an ad for an expensive watch but ends up buying something else instead, a custom copy can appear differently than the ad.

Can you send emails directly from Shopify?

Shopify offers a great email marketing service that costs less than some of the services we have seen before (but don’t take our word for it; check out these reviews). For example, readers of this blog may have seen our Shopify Email Marketing post from earlier this year.

If you haven’t done so, please do yourself a favor and sign up for Shopify Email Marketing. It only costs $49/year and has all the features you would expect from a premium service. They also offer no-risk trials at no cost if you want to try it out.

The best part of Shopify is that they give you everything you need to get started. The email templates are clean, professional, and well-designed. If anything else is important to your marketing, then Checkout is where you can find it — check out the Shopify Marketing FAQ.

It is worth noting that not all e-mail marketing services are created equal (or even available) in the US — so if your business here is using any other kind of email marketing, then Shopify Email Marketing may not be your best bet here.

How do I send my marketing email to Shopify?

So, you have some marketing emails to send. You've come to the right place!

I have written a guide to getting your email campaigns up and running on Shopify:

How to get your Shopify email marketing campaign up and running in less than 10 minutes.

This guide will show you how easy it is to set up an email campaign on Shopify. While there are plenty of ways to get started with Shopify.

Shopify email templates

Shopify email marketing is a part of the overall Shopify ecosystem, which means it’s not just an email marketing concept. It’s a business-to-business (B2B) concept and is a critical step in the overall success of your Shopify business.

To really succeed as an entrepreneur and grow your business, it’s important to understand the importance of email marketing and use it as a tool in your arsenal. As there are so many different tools out there you need to find the one that works best for you.

So I’ve done some research on what email templates are best and share with you an example of how I use them:

It may be tempting to try and use any template within Shopify, but this isn’t always the right choice. The design of your emails should be clear, simple, and consistent across all campaigns; otherwise, you could end up with mixed results from each campaign targeted at different customers or different groups of customers.

how to resend the order confirmation email Shopify

The Shopify order confirmation email, or "confirmation email", is one of the most important emails Shopify sends every day to customers who have placed an order.

It is one of the most important emails Shopify sends every day to customers who have placed an order. It is also one of the hardest to send perfectly.

I showed you how Shopify email marketing works in my post about featured content, so I won't go back to that again here in this little hype. Instead, I'll show you a few ways to send a better confirmation email.

  • Don't send confirmation emails every day.
  • Use creative topic titles.
  • Use a specific URL (See this article for more info on what happened with Shopify confirmation emails.) In short: Do what makes your business/product/service distinct from others - use another method if you're not sure about That and you don't feel good enough.

Anyway, when you send a confirmation email, keep it simple. Avoid the dreaded “Thank you for placing your order” The two-word phrase “Your order has been shipped” Anything that sounds like “We’ll get back to you soon!” If possible, skip these and come up with something more specific (even if it's just a "hope to hear from you soon")

Can I use my own domain with Shopify

Yes, you can use Shopify email marketing as many domain extensions as you want. You just need to register the domain and register shopify.com (or whatever your domain is) for it.

If you’re using a hosted mail server, you can enable Shopify email marketing on that account for free.

For example, if your mail server is Microsoft Exchange and you are using Shopify Email Marketing as a hosted service, then you can enable Shopify email marketing by following these instructions:

  • In the Shopify admin panel, go to Settings > Stores > Mailing Lists/Subscriptions by entering `shopify@mailsubscription` in the search box at the top of the page.
  • On the left side of the list, there will be three options: Subscriptions - Email Marketing - Subscription Signup - Newsletter Features - Check Helpfully When I Enable This For My Store?
  • Under Subscription Signup, click on Manage Your Subscriptions to open the submenu and select Shopify Email Marketing under Email Marketing in that submenu.

Conclusion: Shopify Email Marketing

As we wrap up this brief overview of email marketing best practices, I would like to reiterate that we are not announcing any official Shopify Email Marketing program. This is a topic that has been discussed extensively on the blog and across the web, and as such, there may have been other posts on this subject in the past. If you have any information on Shopify’s email marketing program that you would like to share, please feel free to post it in the comments section of the post below.
